Hello, Adam here.

I was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, and grew up in an old house with a meadow and an overgrown apple orchard in the back yard.

We moved to Portland when I was 11. Awe and appreciation for nature and art led me to garden design as an art form fusing beauty, practicality, and comfort.

I started my first garden company, Flora Fina, in 2012. Since our services and specialties have transformed over the years, we’re now called Mahonia, after one of our favorite Oregon native plants, also our state flower. Adaptable, tough and beautiful year-round.

I’m inspired locally by the Portland Japanese Garden, Hoyt Arboretum, and the incredible natural wonder that surrounds us. Every day can be one of discovery, and we seek to create outdoor spaces with that in mind.
